Easter Weekend

Easter weekend started off with a bang. Wade woke up Friday morning with his eyes crusted shut. He had pink eye and an ear infection! When I got home from the doctor with Wade, Lila also had pink eye!! Luckily it had cleared by Sunday so no else got it!

Hunting Easter Eggs. Wade wasn't too interested...he would find one and say "All done!" He wanted to play with his new toys instead.

The Easter Bunny left gifts by the door!

Happy Birthday to Wade!

Happy 2nd Birthday Wade!!

We had a very busy birthday weekend....
On Wade's actual birthday (Sunday) we celebrated with our family. All of Luke's family and my parents celebrated with cake and ice cream. I think Wade blew out the candles at least 5 times!! Wade had a great time and had fun playing with his counsins, Faith and Allysen.

Wade, Faith, Lila and Allysen checking out the cake.

CoCo Keys

Today we all went to CoCo Keys for Wade's birthday. He loved going down the slide all by himself (I think we would have gone up and down it all day!). Lila was a little unsure of everything and wanted her Daddy to hold her the whole time we were there!! Luke didn't get to go down all the slides like he wanted to...too bad Luke ;)

Preparing for the Lazy River...don't I look cute??!!

Easter Egg Fun

On Saturday we braved the weather and headed to an Easter Egg Hunt!! The weather was horrible, the whole hunt only lasted 10 minutes! Luckily, Wade's name was drawn and he won the grand prize. It was a big Easter basket filled with lots of Army trucks, planes and candy.
When we got home we colored Easter eggs for the first time! Wade was a big helper...he liked dipping his fingers in all of the colors so he ended up with greenish brown looking fingers! I think 3 out of the 6 eggs have already been smooshed!

Blogging Hiatus

The last month has been filled with the flu, busy weekends, and a busy calving time for Luke! The kids are doing great. We can't wait for it to warm up outside! Wade loves to visit the farm and check on the "baby cows" with Daddy. He is obsessed with tractors and hay. He knows that cows have to go to the doctor when they are having big babies and thinks Luke spends most of his time there!!

Lila is on the move! She's very curious but doesn't stray too far from us. She loves to watch Wade and get into all of his toys (I think Wade's learning she doesn't give up a toy very easy...she's a tough little girl!). She eats all by herself now and does a great job! She's willing to try anything (very unlike Wade). She's fun to take places because of her easy going personality and lights up when anyone talks to her.

Hope everyone is well. Enjoy the much delayed pictures!

Playtime with Lila

Lila likes to do anything that Wade is doing...she's getting to be such a big girl! She's just started to scoot around furniture, I'm sure she'll be walking before we know it! It's fun to watch the two of them play together...Lila mimics a lot of Wade's expressions and they like to have "yelling" matches (fun for Mom and Dad :)
Action Shot!

Hanging out on the treadmill...one of her favorite spots.

Mealtime Fun

It's been a struggle getting Wade to eat lately (probably a sign of the "Terrible Twos!"). He choked a couple of weeks ago on a strawberry and has been hesitant to eat every since. He doesn't forget anything!! We're all hoping he'll start to come around soon...we're all tired of doctor visits!

Lila on the other hand is such a good eater! Her favorite place to sit is the highchair! The only thing she hasn't liked so far is watermelon (odd, I know). She will sit there for almost an hour at mealtime as long as you keep food in front of her!

Latest Pics

Bath time fun!
Does this site look familiar? Lila loves getting into Dozer's water bowl just as much as Wade did!
Wade loves to ride in the tractor whenever he can.  He thinks that whenever Luke is gone he is feeding the cows hay!
By the look of Lila's face I'm not sure how much he is really getting in her mouth!

Update

Sorry about the delay in pictures! My friend at work puts me to shame with the many updates she does (what a lucky little boy!!). Things have been busy, busy as usual. Wade's boom has healed up nicely...he still points to it every once in a while. He has also found a love for the SNOW!! We struggle to keep him inside...he's found out how to take the board out of the sliding patio door (which once kept him in) and will run out in the snow with no shoes or socks!!

Lila is growing up so quickly. She's a very curious little girl. She wants to eat everything that you're eating...I don't think she hasn't liked anything yet!! She loves eating Cheerios, grapes, and getting her hands on Wade's sippy cup whenever she can. She definitely has a fiesty side to her...she yells bloody murder whenever you take something away from her. She is at such a fun age though and her and Wade are interacting and playing more and more.

Hope everyone is doing well. Hopefully I'll get some pictures up this weekend!

A Big Boom

Wade had his first, probably of many, stiches put in yesterday. He took a hard fall into a bedroom dresser and ended up with 3 stiches in his eyebrow. He is being a champ about it all...he keeps on pointing to the stiches and saying "Boom!"
The stiches haven't slowed Wade down any...he's still up to his antics!

Happy Birthday Gigi!

Last weekend the kids and I headed up to my grandma's to celebrate her 90th birthday! She is still living on the farm by herself, gets to town every week, and plays down on the floor with the kids! We are so blessed for her good health and look forward to celebrating many more birthdays! We had a nice time visiting with her friends and also attending my cousin's baby shower.

AgDirect Babies

Last year there were 5 babies born at my work!! They are all fairly close in age with the first one being born in May (Lila) and the last in the first part of October. There were also 2 other babies born on our floor last year too...everyone was saying "Don't drink the water!"
Wade got in on the fun as well! He enjoy some chocolate and playing with the tractors in the office.

Chad and Londyn, Laura and Carlie, Kristin and Brody, Alice and Natlie, and me and Lila

Lila really liked Londyn's hairband...she even pulled it off! I guess we'll have to get her one of her own!

A glimpse into Christmas 2008

Wade and Emma doing some coloring on Christmas Day at the Sohlers.
Lila looks unimpressed at her new toys...notice the big yawn!
Wade, that looks a little too heavy!
You must have a been a very good boy if Santa brought you something that BIG!
We caught you!!  Wade and Allysen digging into some peppermint candies.
Lila and me on Christmas Eve before going to church and the Spencer Christmas.  Thanks for Lila's Christmas dress Uncle Marion and Aunt Erin!
Wade on Christmas Eve
Needless to say Dozer does not like Wade's new vacuum but Wade LOVES it.  I think it's one of Wade and Grandma's favorite things to do!!  Just kidding Mom :)
Grandpa Plumb is so goofy!

7 months old

Lila turned 7 months old on the 22nd.  She is such a happy girl!  She is sitting very well and is still on the verge of crawling...she gets up on all fours and starts rocking and then usually falls flat on her face.  She can get to where she needs to though by rolling over and Wade has had to keep his toys under close wraps.  He tends to like to steal anything that Lila has and she of course does NOT like this one bit. We keep telling him that one way she is going to fight back!

Hughes Christmas

Wade suprisingly liked Santa this year.  We weren't sure what to expect.  We went to visit him at the mall the night before and he didn't want to sit on his lap....he talked to him but only if I held him.  The next day he couldn't get enough of Santa...I think he sat with him a couple of times and he kept on going back up to show him what he gave him.
Thanks for helping me with the Gingerbread House, Aunt Katie.  It tasted REALLY good!!

Colette's Shower

On Saturday the kids and I went to Colette's baby shower (congratulations again!) and Wade had a blast!! Wade, Joseph and Colin are all within 6 months of age and had a great time digging into the cupcakes together :)
Three mischievous little boys!

"My cupcake has more frosting than yours!"
Wade had a lot of fun watching Ryan play his Nintendo DS
Thanks for being so patient with him Ryan!!
This picture is hilarious!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We spent Thanksgiving day with my family (my mom wanted to get a photo for her Christmas cards...a lot of more work these days!!).  My grandma and uncle were also able to make it.  The night before Thanksgiving we were with Luke's family.  It was so nice to have a couple of days off of work and spend it with family!
Pat (Wade's Godfather) was in town from New York for Thanksgiving.  Wade learned to say Pat so that's all we heard for a couple of days! It was great to see all the Whannell's and Hillary and Natalie!  Wade can't wait to see you at his 2nd birthday party Pat!  Haha, just kidding.
Eat too much turkey and potatoes, Lila??
Wade is my big helper (or so he thinks!).  He especially likes to help give Lila a bath and try to dump lots of water on her head (ahhh!).
